Sei had looked at the board this time. Though he still couldn't read, everyone was talking about finding wood to create carts, or borrowing carts for this errand. Even as low as they could talk, he could understand that much. Marlow had long given him the go ahead to do tasks for the guild, anything that would keep their reputations up with them. Of course, for some of them, he wanted to go with the pup, such as the previous night. He wasn't sure why the Persian had come back smelling of fear and satisfaction, but he had, and now he was snoozing it off in the room. Sei didn't think he'd want to accompany him in this venture anyway.

The first couple of hours equated to nothing but gathering scrap wood, or that which he thought could be turned into a cart later on. He'd found what he considered a safe place to hide it, but he found out as he was making a return trip, he was wrong. All the wood he had gathered was missing, or just plain taken-- either way, he wasn't sure, nor did he care. All of his hard work was gone, there was no way for him to complete the task now! His ears fell, and his tail dragged the dirt. What would he do now...? There was no time for him to try to gather everything together again, and it wasn't worth going and taking it back from those who had taken it.

His paws had instinctively brought him to Melody's Menageries, a shop for berries and the like that was run by two of the 'mon Sei considered to be friends. Melody the Cinccino was outside, tending, of all things, a cart! He approached her from the side. Who was he kidding...?

"Oh, Hello there Sei. What's got you so down? You look like the weather mon just told you that we wouldn't be having another thunderstorm for the rest of the year." She teased, reaching down to pet the pup.

"Guild needs carts; I try to get wood to make cart, someone stole wood. Now I no can help." Sei tried to explain, making her stop in her polishing to think.

"The guilds, huh? I suppose I could donate my cart for that cause--IF you promise to return it in the same condition you got it." Melody spoke sharply as the Electrike was getting excited. "And." She paused to get the pup to look at her again. "Felix will be going with you. It's not that I don't trust you, Sei, but if 'mon are out to get wood and carts any way they can, I want you getting credit for it. So, deal?"

"Deal!" The Electrike hopped up. He didn't mind hanging around the Zorua, after all, Felix had somehow managed to learn to walk on his hind legs, and this would be good practice for the Electrike to do the same. Melody called out Felix, explaining the situation, and watched the Zorua's fur bristle on end as he found out that the wood had been stolen away from his friend. Still, he nodded to the agreement, and took up his post at the front end of the cart with Sei beside him.

Once they were far enough away from the shop to remove the worry of Melody catching him and causing a scene, Sei asked Felix to stop and stood up on his hind paws as well, using the arm on the cart for support. The walking was slow going, shaky and unpracticed, though for a while he was doing alright. He even got to where he didn't need the support of the arm...until he miss stepped and landed flat on his face in the dirt.

The Zorua laughed, then leaned down to check on his friend to make sure that Sei was okay. That was the end of the bipedal walking, and now he had a dusty brown streak down his chest from where he had face planted. Sei kept his ears down for the rest of the way to Robin, he didn't even want to get the coin from Solstice, he was so down hearted. This was not a good day. First the wood had been stolen, and then he'd been laughed at by one of his friends for falling down. He just wanted to curl up on the bed and sleep for a few days.

Thankfully, Felix thought ahead and while Sei went back to his room, he retrieved the coin for him. Taking on the guise of the blue canine was easy enough, and his mannerisms weren't too hard either. Lastly, since the bat wasn't familiar with the electric type, speech wasn't hard to impersonate either.

After retrieving the coin from Solstice, he quietly slipped into the guild hall and located the room where Marlow and Sei stayed, finding it empty. Perhaps they were out for dinner, yes, that must be it. They wouldn't notice an extra coin that had been added to their stockpile until later on, but since Marlow was the one who could count, he would likely think that it was just there for an errand Sei had taken on for the guilds; and of course, he'd be right.

Very detailed and interesting. I do also like how you managed to tell so little with so few words, so that's quite good. This story was awesome, can't wait to see more.
